I got an easier fix. Get some acetone, it's a natural byproduct of vegetable degradation. I used 2 quarts. Get a shop vac and stuff it in the tail pipe. Seal it with some rags to make sure no air comes from anywhere else but the exhaust system. Take out the upstream o2 sensor. In the port where the sensor goes put in a hose that will fit [12 mm OD might work]. In the other end of the hose, put in a bucket of acetone. 1 quart is all you need but I'd do a second pass just in case. Turn the shop vac on. The acetone will get sucked in. Turn off the shop vac and wait for 15 to 30 minutes so that the acetone has time to dissolve the oily coating in your catalytic converter. Then turn the vacuum on again. Your exhaust pipes will get cold. When they warm up to room temperature, that means all the acetone is gone. It takes about 2 hours. Since the O2 sensor is out, might as well clean it. Dip the tip of the O2 sensor in a cup of acetone. You should see some carbon bits come off. Then put it all back together. [Don't leave the acetone in there over night since it might eat through the gasket seals. In mine it reconditioned them so that any gasket leaks were resealed. I didn't worry about silicone poisoning on the cat because the gasket on mine is after the cat. The connection before the cat is a graphite O-ring and some kind of fiberglass mating surface. That end is connected by nuts and bolts on springs so apparently it is supposed to open up a crack if exhaust pressures are too high; usually when the catalytic converter is clogged.] Don't start the engine until you are sure that the pipes are clear of acetone and the garage is well ventilated of any fumes. A little acetone might cause a backfire but a lot of acetone would bring the fire department over.

I have had three M35X's. The first was a 2006 and had 26,000 miles in it. Put a total 235,000 miles on it. Never an issue. Bought a 2007 M35x. Had 74,000 miles on it, still have in with it now having 188,000 miles on it, never an issue. I now have bought a 2008 with 27,000 original miles in it and so far runs like a dream. All three averaged about 24 MPG on the highway.

It was quick only when I used to drive it manually (steptronic ) but when it was in normal drive and I would switch it to sport it would seem the gears would be confused and it would take a while to take off and gain speed .. i would always wonder it the m56 would do that?

Hi Ed, I know you moving away from infiniti, I was hoping you can give me some insight since you the man. This issue with the mirror just happened to me today with my m56. Sometimes the motor will make a sound when trying to close \ open but it never clicks in place now, there is a small wiggle in the mirror. I checked the 3 screws underneath and it was tight. And i SOL ? Do i have to buy a new mirror or you have any other ideas? I tried to open \ close it multiple times and folding the mirror back and forth by hand, I heard clicks but it still doesnt lock. Figured ill ask before spending 400 bucks

Is the water level in reservoir tank depends as well in weather temp? For example my LX570 in very hot weather reaches max point but at night with lil colder weather its in middle of the tank between low and max

If your rotor does not have these threaded holes you can rest a hammer between the studs and smack the hammer with another hammer to make it almost impossible to accidentally damage studs while still knocking the rotor loose.

Just ran across this video as I have a replacement plastice one that I need fasterners for. Yet I did look up the aluminum one & they now how the cut out for the oil drain plug & oil filter. The sllver one is $179.99 & the black powder coated is $199.99. The site says that the aluminum weighs 1lb more than the oem plastic one.

I actually like the default where it locks when you hit 15, just safer driving with the doors locked. Mine stopped working like that years ago - not sure why the change. Sounds like a dealer has to reprogram it to get it back. Thanks for the video!
